As far as the price is concerned, Rift wants consumers to enjoy awful experience at only $300 and with development kit as well so that they could have a chance to develop for Rift as well.

Expected Release date:
Oculus VR released two developer verions of Development Kit for Rift to give developers an oppertunity to create content in time for the Rift's release. However, the consumer version of Rift is expected to be released in 2015
